Abstract:The concentrations of heavy metals in surface sediments of Luoyuan Bay were investigated in August,2009.The results showed that the average concentrations of Cu,Pb,Cd,Hg and As in surface sediments of Luoyuan Bay were 21.2×10-6,29.5×10-6,0.075×10-6,0.041×10-6,9.28×10-6 respectively.The correlation analysis between heavy metals and other environmental elements showed that Cd and Hg were closely correlated with sulfides,and Cu had a similar geochemical source with Pb.The pollution effect of heavy metals in surfer sediments was evaluated by the technique of single factor index and Hakanson potential ecological risk index.The results indicated the sequence of single factor index was Pb(1.18)Cu(0.70)As(0.62)Hg(0.21)Cd(0.15).The comprehensive pollution index was 2.86,which showed that the pollution level was low.The potential ecological risk parameter was Hg(8.28)As(6.19)Pb(5.90)Cd(4.51)Cu(3.52) in sequence,and the potential ecological risk index(RI) was 28.4,which indicated that Luoyuan Bay existed a low potential ecological risk.
