| Abstract: | The effects of salinity,temperature and pH on survival and behavior in juvenile cuttlefish Sepia pharaonis were studied in a laboratory.The survival rates of the juveniles were found high(> 80%) under a salinity of 23,28 and 33,water temperature of 17,20 and 23 ℃ and pH of 5.91,6.41,6.91,7.41,7.91,8.42,8.91 and 9.31.The juveniles had significantly different behaviors under suitable(water temperature of 17~23 ℃,salinity of 23~33,and pH 5.91~9.31) and unsuitable conditions.Moreover,the juveniles exhibited thermotaxis under the water temperature 30 ℃,indicating that the juveniles showed the high tolerance.The present study really provided important information for the aquaculture of S.pharaonis. |
