Abstract:Stratified sampling was one of the most common methods in statistics.The paper investigated the application effect of stratified sampling in fishery statistics with Dynamic Network Information Collection for National Marine Fishery.It also compared the accuracy in estimating the fishery catch of the South China Sea in October 2009 using two sampling methods: stratified sampling and simple random sampling.Results revealed that the variance of stratified sampling was quite smaller than that of simple random sampling.The latter could be 28.17 times more than the former.A reasonable stratification and sample assignment could not only maintain the accuracy of statistical results but also immensely cut the cost of statistical work.Therefore,stratified sampling is recommended to provide a reference for fishery statistics in the present condition.
