| Abstract: | Alexandrium catenella is a kind of harmful red tide algae which can produce paralytic shellfish toxins(PSTs).Study on the combined effects of environmental factors on growth characteristics of Alexandrium catenella is very important for forecasting the formation of red tide.An orthogonal test L9(34) was designed to study the combined effects of temperature,salinity,nutrient concentration and light intensity on the growth characteristics of Alexandrium catenella.Results showed that the optimal culturing conditions for Alexandrium catenella was under 25 ℃,salinity 30,three times of nitrate / phosphate concentrations of f /2 culture medium and 10 000 lx light intensity.Different levels of temperature,initial nitrogen and phosphorus content,light intensity and salinity could significantly influence the growth of Alexandrium catenella,and temperature was the most influential factor. |
