Preliminary Report on the Medical Treatment of the Disease of Zoothamnium by Putting Prawn in Potassium Hypermagnate Solution |

| Abstract: | Zoothamnium disease js an ubiquitous disease in the culture of Penaeus orientalis. In this paper, the results of treatment of Zoothamnium disease with potassium permanganate in the laboratory trims are reported. The data showed that potassium permanganate at 5 ppm was found to be effective in removing Zoothamnium from the gill filaments and body surface of Penaeus orientalis. |
