| Abstract: | Hippocampus japonicus Kaup, caught in Chongming Dongtai waters nearby the north branch of Changjiang estuary, is the species to be recorded in Shanghai for the first time. The specimen has been stored in the East China Sea Fisheries Research lnstititute. |
