Preliminary Study on the Oxygen Consumption,Oxygen Consumption Rate and Suffocation Points of Aratosquilla oratoria

In this paper the oxygen consumption was determined by using the dissolved oxygen in experimental and contrast respiration chambers.The Winkler's way was used to determine the content of oxygen.Conclusions were drawn that the increase of oxygen consumption proportionally to the body length while the oxygen consumption rate inversely proportional to the body weight.Temperature,pH and sex had remarkable effect on the oxygen consumption rate of Orarosquilla oratoria,So did the light and starvation.But the effect of salinity on the oxygen consumption rate was not very remarkable.It was also concluded that the oxygen consumption rate changed obviously in 24 hours.The suffocation points ranged from 0.5734 to 0.6934 ml/l.
