Abstract:The influence of nitrite on erythrocyte osmotic fragility(EOF) of grass carp was studied at different concentration of Nitrite(0,0.5,1.0,2.0 mg/L) and different contamination time(24,72,120,168,264 h).The results showed that the maximum and minimum resistance value of EOF increased significantly compared to control group(P<0.01),EOF of 2.0 mg/L group had a maximal increased amplitude,and the maximum and minimum resistance value of EOF had significant difference compared to 0.5 mg/L and 1.0 mg/L group(P<0.01).EOF increased extremely with the prolongation of experimental time within 120 h,but it increased slowly after 120 h.The maximum and minimum resistance value had extreme difference between 120 h and 72 h,72 h and 24 h,(P<0.01).The minimum resistance value had no significant difference between 120 h and 168 h,168 h and 264 h,(P>0.05).The maximum resistance value had on significant difference between 264 h and 168 h(P>0.05).In conclusion,nitrite may lead to the increase of erythrocyte osmotic fragility of grass carp,and the effect had the relationship of concentration-effect and time-effect.
