Abstract:In order to select new carp species which were suitable for freshwater fish farming in China,hybridization between Carassius auratus(♀) and Procypris merus(♂) by artificial method was studied,and the morphological characteristics between the F1 hybrid and the original brood stocks were investigated.The result showed that the fertilization was 92.5%,the rates of hatching was 89.3%,and the survival rate of F1 hybrid was 82.9%.Morphology analyzed indicated that there were 7 meristic characters of F1 hybrid(hybrid of Carassius auratus♀×Procypris merus♂) which were 6 month old were biased to mother,and 5 metric characters were biased to mother,2 metric characters were biased to father,1 metric characters were beyond parents.Furthermore,the cluster analysis of meristic characters and metric characters showed that all of characters were closed to mother.Discriminant analysis indicated that the identification accuracy was ranked as C.auratus(83.3%),P.merus(100%),F1 hybrid(70%),respectively.The results concluded that the morphological traits in F1 hybrids were more traced through the female ancestor,the inheritance from C.auratus to hybrids was stronger than that from P.merus.
