Use of Imprecise Reliability Data Based on Information Fusion Technology

The use of imprecise reliability data in reliability analyses was discussed in the paper. The data from various sources were fused by using the fuzzy arithmetic by considering each source as a sample from the same population. Several possible distributions were translated into a single fuzzy distribution. The fuzzified distributions of commonly used distributions in reliability analyses were deduced by the parameters taken as fuzzy numbers and the different values for a parameter were synthesized as a single fuzzy number. The failure probability was gained with the fuzzified distribution and an example was taken to illustrate the way to use the method.
