| Abstract: | By analysing the present status and limitations of electronic controlled gasoline engines, this paper presents lean burn, stratified charge and gasoline direct injection as the methods for further improving fuel economy and reducing emissions. In these three methods, lean burn and gasoline direct injection are considered as two of the most promising methods for meeting stricter future regulations. The stratified charge is considered as a complemental method for lean burn and gasoline direct injection. |
