Abstract:RZWQM was made sensitivity analysis and calibrated for simulating soil moisture,nitrate concentration and crop growth in a double-cropping system comprised of winter wheat(Triticum aestivum L.) and maize(Zea mays L.) at Xinxiang,Henan.The results showed that based on the sensitivity analysis of RZWQM for parameters,efficiency of model calibration can be significantly improved.Comparison of observed and simulated values,the root mean standard error(RMSE) and mean relative errors(MRE) of simulated soil water content in the 0~100 cm layer were 0.05 cm3/cm3 and-6.15% respectively.The RMSE and MRE of NO-3-N concentration in the 0~100 cm layer were 17.86 mg/kg and 16.31%,respectively.The RMSE of simulated leaf area index were 7.31 and 1.01,respectively.The MRE of biomass and grain yield of wheat were 34.79% and-8.77%,respectively.The MRE of maize yield was 7.31%.Above results indicate that RZWQM can be used as a tool to simulate and investigate the effects of soil water on crop yield in the wheat-maize cropping system in Xinxiang.The reasonable model parameters established for the cropping system are the basis of model application for optimizing managements and decisions in agriculture.
