Simple Method for Calculating Impulse Force by Flap Valve in Pumping Station

In the pumping stations, when the flap values are closed down, a strong impulse force is produced, therefore, it is necessary to find out a way to reduce the impulse force. Based on the collision theory and the damping technique, the equations for calculating the impulse force are simplified, and several measures to reduce the impulse force are found out. Through comparasion test, we decided to adhere a rubber disc on the valve as a elestic buffer and obtained good effect in several pumping stations.
