| Abstract: | An overview was provided with the evolution of soybean production for main soybean-producing countries in South America. The current status for breeding system, objectives, procedure, as well as varieties protection and seed extension service system were summarized; the reasons for the rapid development of soybean production in South America were also analyzed. Finally, the outlook of the development trend of soybean breeding in South America was discussed and the policy for soybean industry development in China was proposed. |
