Peanut Cotyledonary Disease: Symptom and Possible Causal Organism |

| Abstract: | Peanut cotyledonary disease, as first described by Xu et al in 1981, is characte rized by the formation of tumors on cotyledon of peanut kernels (Fig. 1). In e xtreme cases, the disease incidence may exceed 10%. This disease is found most s evere in upland field with low water retaining ability, and in varieties with a long flowering & pegging phase. Pot experiment revealed that drought enhanced oc currence of the disease. |
