| Abstract: | Payment for forest environmental service(PFES) is a promising innovation and relatively young marketbased instrument for environmental protection.It has great advantages over traditional conservation approaches in forest resources protection,economy development and poverty allevation.Many countries in the world are making trials on PFES.Based on a literature review,the conceptions,the types and the characteristics of PFES schemes were introduced,the key components of PFES schemes and the relationship with poverty alleviation were analyzed,and the conditions for putting PFES in practice successfully and its challenges were discussed in the paper. |
