Forest Tree Improvement in Australia

A report is given on a study tour to Australia that was taken in the beginning of 1995. In the report the authour gives an overview of seed orchard management, production situation of cuttings, establishment and silviculture of plantations of Pinus radiata, an exotic species to Australia. Hybrid breeding and propagation of superior hybrids of Pinus caribaea and progress of eucalypt breeding are also described in this article.
