| Abstract: | Methods and means of applying 3S technologies in networking of forest ecological studies in Xiamen city was studied in terms of application of advanced technologies, networking and deployment of urban forest ecological studies and development of best practices of urban ecological development and environmental protection. The paper focuses on the methods and means of applying 3Stechnologies in Xiamen city such as interpreting TM and SPOT image data, vegetation investigating, and monitoring forest resource distribution using Geographic Information System, which would serve as an example for urban forest ecological development in other cities with similar natural and social conditions. |
