| Abstract: | Basic principles of island biogeography and their applications to nature reservesdesign in Shandong province were reviewed in present paper. The equlibrium theory of islandbiogeography and recently developed metapopulation theory are theortical foundations of naturereserves desigu According to the actual situation of Shandong province,which has a lot offragmental habitats in mount areas,These theories should be applied carefully in nature reservesdesign in Shandong province. |
