Introduction to the Resources of the Native Woody Flowering Plant Species in Guangzhou

The status of the resource of the endemic woody floriferous species in Guangzhou was briefly introduced. A total of 632 species, belonging to 260 genera and 93 families were identified. Based on their gardening use, the species can be sorted into 8 groups, i.e. landscaping species, shelterbelt species, avenue tree species, isolated planting species, weeping gardening species, hedgerow species, formative and stump potting species, and woody surface cover species. The general utilizations of these endemic woody flowering species were also introduced briefly. Finally, the status and the cause of utilization were discussed and analyzed.
