Abstract:To study the effects of different levels of protein and energy of diets on the growth performance and apparent rate of nutrient metabolism of Shihchih broilers,a total of 120 three-week-old Shihchih broilers were randomly divided into four groups,each group with three repeats.Chicks were fed with corn-soybean meal based diets in which the level of protein and energy were 12.09MJ/kg(18.07%),13.09MJ/kg(18.01%),12.09MJ/kg(20.08%),and 13.09MJ/kg(19.93%) for groupsⅠ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ,respectively.The experiment lasted for 21 days.The results showed that the group Ⅳ had the highest level of average daily gain(ADG) and the lowest level of Feed/Gain(F/G) while the groupⅠhad the highest level of average daily feed intake(ADFI).Different levels of protein and energy diets did not significantly affect ADG(P>0.05),ADFI(P>0.05) and F/G(P>0.05).The apparent utilization rate of crude protein,crude fat and calcium in group Ⅳ were the highest than the other groups,but the differences were not significant.Moreover the differences were not significant among the other groups(P>0.05).The carcasses weight and leg muscles weight were significantly increased in groupⅡ and Ⅳ(P<0.05).The all net weight loaded,half net loaded weight and slaughter rate were significantly improved in groupⅡ and Ⅳ(P<0.05).According to the effects of diets on slaughtering performance and meat quality of Shihchih broilers,the nutrition level of group Ⅱwas the best.
