| Abstract: | Fourteen quality characteristics of 12 rice cultivars were investigated. The re- sult indicated that there was significant difference in these characteristics among culti- vars. The correlation between them was complex. The effects of many quality charac- ters on the others were positive or negative. but the grain length had no effect on the others. The relation between quality characters and the components of yield was also complex but the former had no close relationship with yield itself. Some problems of the breeding for quality in rice were also discussed in this paper. |
