| Abstract: | A number of bacterial strains were isolated from the activated sludge treated coking waste-water from Wuhan Iron-Steel Company. The recorded genera are as follows: Pseudomonas, Flavobacterium, Alcaligens, Achromobacler, Zoogloea, Bacillus, Micrococcus and Arthrobacter. Based on eatimation of strength of the degrading polluted materials in coke-oveing wastewaterd, tow most efficient strains, No. 15, a pseudomonas, and No. 18, a Flavobacterium, were selected. These two strains were used as starting strains for mutagenesis by ~(60)Co-r radiation. Results showed that their capacity for degrading wastewrter were significantly increased. |
