Abstract:The symbiotic plasmid pJBSJI of Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar viceae was transfered into R. huakuii strain 7653R (wild type, Nod+Fix~+) and strain 7653R+1 (sym plasmid-cured mutant from 7653R. Nod~-). 7653R+1 transconjugant can t nodulate pea ineffectively (Nod~+Fix~-), but 7653R transconjugant nodulate pea. So it appears that the indigenous symbiotic plasmid of Rhizobium huakuii can suppress the expression of pJB5JI On the other hand, 7653R transconjugant nodulates Astragalus sinicus more effectively than the original strain 7653R. The stability of pJBSJI in Rhizobium huakuii was slao examined.
