Influence of semiochemicals on insect behevior and their application in pest management

This paper reviewed the concepts and catagories of semiochemicals.A series of insect behaviors were affected by the host plant volatile semiochemicals and insect pheromones,such as orientation,sex behavior,oviposition as well as the allure of natural enemy.Semiochemicals are potential substances in the management of pest insects in agriculture.Sex pheromone,ODS,alarm pheromone,aggregation pheromone,allelochemical,kairomone and the host plant volatile semiochemicals are played important role as novel insecticides for non-toxic strategy of pest management in organic farming.
