中国牡丹起源的研究

中国牡丹在长期的历史发展和人工选择过程中，形成了３个较大的品种群和１２个较小的品种群．这些品种群大多为多元起源．与栽培牡丹起源有关的野生原种有矮牡丹（稷山牡丹）、紫斑牡丹、杨山牡丹等．该文总结了野生原种与各品种群之间的相互关系．

Studies on the Origin of Chinese Mudan (Tree Peony)

In the process of the long term historical development and artificial selection, the Chinese Mudan has formed three larger cultivar groups(CG). They are Zhongyuan cultivar group (CG from Central Plains of China), Northwest cultivar group (CG from Northwestern China) and Jiangnan cultivar group (CG from the Lower Reaches of the Yangtze River of China). Besides, there are still some smaller cultivar groups in Pengzhou of Sichuan Provine, Yan'an of Shaanxi Province, Baokang of Hubai Province etc. The formation of each cultivar group has three ways:①by directly domestication and improvement of the wild species;②by domestication and cross breeding of cultivars introduced from other parts of the country;③synthesizing the above mentioned two ways. Most of the cultivar groups are of polyphylesis by the third way. The wild species related closely to the culivated Mudan have been identified basically. They are Dwarf Mudan (Paeonia suffruticosa var. spontanea =P. spontanea, Yangshan Mudan (P.ostii)and Purple blotched Mudan (P. rockii),etc. Depending on the records concerned and recent investigation, the relationship between wild Mudan and clutivated Mudan at home and abroad has been summarized preliminarily.
