| Abstract: | Geranium, the first pot-plant in the world, consists of about 80 species of pathogens; among them, the major fungal diseases are grey mold, root and stem rot caused by Pythuim spp., Rhizoctonia spp., Sclerotinia Scierotiorum, Fusarium spp., and yellow wilt caused by Verticillium albo-atrum, rust and so on; the bacterial diseases are bacterial blight(xanthomona campestris pv. Pelargonii), anualr leaf spot(pseudonons cichorii (Swingle)Stapp), wilt(pantoea solanacearum)etc; and viral diseases such as mosaic and chlorosis; root rot caused by nermatodes. This paper introduces these pathogens, elucidates their symptoms and puts forwards measures for preventing them. |
