Selection and Breeding of New Cucumber Variety "Zaochun 2"

Zaochun 2”is a new hybrid cucumber variety from the crossing of “89-4” and“83-4”.The color of fruits of “Zaochun 2” is dark-green without yellow stripe.The length of fruits is about 30cm.The wide in diameter of fruits is 3.5cm.The fruit neck is short.Average fruit weight is about 200g.Fruits are sweet with white spine on them.The first nodal position of female flower is 3～5.The yield of “Zaochun 2” at earlier stage is 29.6% higher than that of “Jinza 2”.The total yield of “Zaochun 2” is 90000kg/hm\+2,being 22.4% higher than that of “Jinza 2”.“Zaochun 2” is high resistant to Fusarium mildew,powdery mildew.It is suitable to plant “Zaochun 2” in protected field in spring.
