| Abstract: | There are various biological active components in bitter melon (Momordica charantia) which have exhibited many kinds of functions,including hypoglycemic,antiviral,antitumor,antioxidant,antispermatogenic,antimicrobial properties and others. The latest progresses of the research about the health protection functions of bitter melon and the applications of bitter melon in food and medicine fields were dealt with. Some respects of investigation which need further study were proposed. |
