| Abstract: | The biological and ecological characteristics, the economic and ecological importance of Machilus thunbergii are introduced in this paper. The research progresses on genetics, community ecology, natural stands distribution, conservation and sustainable management, afforestation technology, and utilization in medicine of this species are reviewed. |
