“Past and Present” of ‘Koshihikari’ Rice Variety

‘Koshihikari’ is a short-grain rice variety. It has been promoted in Japan since 1953 and is the favorite rice of Japanese. Even after more than 50 years of widespread planting, it is still the largest variety of rice planted and promoted in Japan due to its excellent rice quality and long-term consumer reputation.
