Research and Discussion on the Biodiesel

Biodiesel was the general name of fatty acid methyl ester,which was obtained through the transesterification of animal and vegetable oil and lower alcohol.It was a kind of "clean,easy-degradation,reproducible" energy.Research progresses of biodiesel preparation by thermal cracking process,transesterification process,direct use and blending process,microemulsions process and ester catalysis were discussed.Biodiesel characteristics were expatiated from the aspects of environmental protection,safety and reproducibility.The present technology problems and future tendency of biodiesel were put forward.
