Current situation and development strategy of wheat breeding in Yunnan prov ince

This article gives a brief review of the development of wheat breeding in yunnan. The progress in yield potential,disease resistance, environmental stress tolerance and subtropical adaptation were recognized in th is paper.The challenges for further development and the strategy related to the development were discussed. In accordance with the particular breeding objective , strengthen the collection, identification and utilization of exotic and local variety resources, attention to the improvement of the core parent materials;foc us on disease resistance and grain quality; perfect the breeding working net, ca rryout shuttle breeding; establish seed multiplication production and marketing system in high effciency.
