外语课堂教学中的文化因素探讨

摘    要:本文通过问卷调查、课堂观察的形式对英语课堂教学进行研究、分析,提出了影响外语课堂教学的文化因素,强调这些因素所具有的内在的、不可忽视的作用。提出在外语课堂教学中引进国外先进教学方法时,应尊重并结合本民族文化的特点,进行适当的调整和改造。

Abstract:Based on a careful study of EFL classroom at college level, this paper provides a relatively panoramic and systematic view of the cultural influences on EFL classroom. It argues these cultural factors have built-in influences, which can not be overlooked, and calls upon our cultural sensitivity not only to the culture of the target language, but especially to the culture of our own, particularly when those language teaching theories and methodologies originated from the English-speaking countries are introduced and applied to Chinese EFL classroom. This paper suggests that adaptation is more preferable than adoption and filtering the Western approach to make it appropriate to the Chinese cultural norms is, in any way, advisable.
