Abstract:Effects of traditional Chinese medicine wastewater treatment on the physiological and biochemical index (including chlorophyll, soluble sugar, TTC, Pro, MDA, SOD, POD and CAT) of Acorus calamus were investigated in simulated constructed wetlands using A.calamus plants with the same of activity and size. The results showed that under the stress of traditional Chinese medicine wastewater, the contents of chlorophyll and Pro decreased significantly in the leaves of Acorus calamus. Meanwhile, with the increasing concentration of medicine wastewater, the contents of MDA and soluble sugar increased significantly, and the activities of TTC firstly increased and then decreased. In addition, SOD and CAT reduced significantly under the stress of medicine wastewater, but the activity of POD increased significantly. Therefore, it can be concluded that Acorus calamus has good adaptability and pollution resistance ability to medicine wastewater by the adjustments of different physiological and biochemical index, and it is one of the elected plants in the treatments of traditional Chinese medicine wastewater in constructed wetlands.
