It′s significant and possible for Xiamen to exploit its advantages related to Taiwan in the course of the integration of inside and outside Xiamen Island.The general approaches are as follows： to optimize and update the function of the inside island and speed up the tie-in with Taiwan in services;to strengthen the industry agglomeration on the foundation of the original industry distribution by exploiting the special advantages of every district outside the island and developing industry cooperation related to Taiwan;to develop agriculture cooperation with Taiwan as the highlight of the integration of inside and outside Xiamen Island;to increase cultural exchanges between Xiamen and Taiwan by exploiting superiority of the folk religion and the traditional culture in South Fujian and further enhance the sense of identity and the cohesive affinity of compatriots in Taiwan about China mainland;to seize the rare chance of having been given the priority in cooperation with Taiwan and continue to perform an exemplary role in the economic and trade exchange and cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Straits.
