Motivation and Promotion of Students' English Level in College

The role of motivation in Language learning has been studied since 1960s. It is indeed one of the most important areas of linguistics. The concept of motivation is given from different aspects, and then the theoretical base and Methodology to motivate language learners are presented. With regard to the role of motivation in language learning, it is concluded that the motivation plays an increasingly important role in many aspects, such as identifying with the target society, achieving long-term and short-term goals,and promoting students' English level.
