Research Progress and Application Prospect of Antimicrobial Peptides

As one kind of active peptides and widely existing in nature,antimicrobial peptides which have many advantages including broad-spectrum antibiotics,good thermal stability and unique antibacterial mechanism,have become the research hotspots of pharmaceutical,food and animal husbandry.This paper gives an overview of antibacterial mechanism,different ways to obtain antibacterial peptides,application prospect in food and medical field and existing problems.The key of popularizing antibacterial peptides lies in efficient access to antibacterial peptides and lower production cost.
