An Analytical Review on the Performance of Cultivar Mixture of Triticeae Crops

Cultivar mixtures have been broadly concerned for its advantages over pure stands in yield, yield stability, disease resistance, grain quality, etc. There have been lots of researches on this topic in the world, among which many have been done with Triticeae crops. This paper gives an analytical review on research outputs on this topic, comments on the performance of cultivar mixtures of Triticeae crops, summarizes the mechanisms under those effects, and suggests some issues to be paid attention on in applying cultivar mixture and making further studies on this topic.
