| Abstract: | Recent development in the cotton molecular breeding during the past 20 years in China is reviewed, while the theoretical basis, key techniques and methods, breeding mechanism, new bred varieties of cotton, including its limitations and possible future directions for molecular breeding research, are discussed. |
