Abstract:Effects of combined application of organic and chemical fertilizers on stable nitrogen isotope abundance (δ15N-‰) and nitrate content were investigated in soil and Chinese cabbage (Beassica pekinensis L.). The results showed that, with application rate of organic manure decreasing, the δ15N of Chinese cabbage was decreased from +9.355‰ for control group to +4.098‰ for pure chemical fertilizer group,and for the nitrate content which was from 1459mg/kg to 2138mg/kg. There was no significant difference (p>0.05) between pure organic manure (100%-O) and pure chemical fertilizer (100%-C) treatment for δ15N, and for nitrate content which was sigificant difference(p<0.05). There was a negative correlation (R=-0.9064) between δ15N and nitrate in Chinese cabbage among different treatments. The δ15N in soil was less affected by the fertilizer, which ranged from +7.706‰ to +9.903‰; however, the δ15N of cabbage was more affected by the fertilizers which was from +4.098‰ to +9.355‰. In summary, combined application of organic and chemical fertilizers can affect the δ15N in Chinese cabbage, which can be used to differentiate the source of fertilizer, but further study needs to be done for the distribution of the stable nitrogen isotope.
