Abstract:The effects of microwave treatment on mortality of all stages of Sitophilus oryzae Linnaeus were studied after the pests were treated at the microwave power of 160, 320, 480, 640 and 800W for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25s, respectively. Meanwhile, the adult in the wheat were treated at 160, 320, 480, 640 and 800W for 20s, and 800W for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25s. And wheat germination rate was also evaluated. Results showed that the susceptibility from high to low of the pest to microwave treatment was eggs, larvae, pupae and the adult. While the adults were treated at 800W for 25s, instant mortality reached 100%. The germination rate of wheat was reduced significantly after microwave treatment.
