摘    要:在遥感应用领域中.植被指数VI已被广泛用来定量评价植被覆盖及其生长活力。在植被指数的基础上借用“土壤线”(Soil Line)的概念而发展起来的垂直植被指数(PVI)具有独特的作用,已在植物生长信息提取、作物产量估测等方面得到广泛应用。为此,论述了垂直植被指数的相关概念、垂直植被指数的提出和发展以及垂直植被指数的各种解算方法。此外,还简要评述了垂直植被指数的优势和局限性。

Abstract:In the field of remote sensing application, Vegetation Index (VI) has been widely used in quantitatively assessing the vegetation coverage and its growing vitality. The Perpendicular Vegetation Index (PVI) which was developed on the basis of the concepts of Vegetation Index and the Soil Line has the peculiar functions and, therefore, has been popularly used in the data extracting of vegetation growing, the estimating of crop yield and so on. In this paper, the relevant concept, origin and development of Perpendicular Vegetation Index as well as the solution methods of its different forms are presented. In addition, the major advantages and disadvantages of Perpendicular Vegetation Index are briefly discussed.
