A Study of Estimating Method of Understorey Biomass

Research status,hot issues and development trend of understorey biomass in recent 30 years were systematically reviewed in terms of harvesting method,estimation model and parameter selection.Currently,in addition to the traditional plot method,other methods to harvest the understorey biomass like mean sample timber,relative growth method,quantitative and non-destructive method are being gradually perfected and applied.The extensive use of biomass estimation model upgrades greatly the estimation scale,accuracy and the practicability of understorey biomass.Besides arbors at upper layer that are essential to understorey biomass,the forest management measures are also the indispensable factor that influences understorey biomass.So the relation with arbors at upper layer and management measures should be considered in the study of understorey biomass.
