Abstract: | The best reagent for displacing adsorbed NH, for the measurement of cation exchange capacity of soils is a mixed ZN nitrate solution of potassium and calcium. The equivalent ratio of K to Ca should be in the range from 1 to 3. This mixture is better than simple solutions of Li, Na, K, Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba nitrates and mixtures of KNO3 with any one or two of these other nitrates. |
