| Abstract: | Models based on tree-level(tree height,diameter at breast height,crown diameter,stem taper) and standlevel(stand density,site quality) characteristics from forest inventory,can be used to predict wood properties,quality,grades and value recovery of standing trees,which is a common practice in stand management abroad.Based on these models,effective evaluation of timber resources quality and potential value recovery under various stand management strategies is feasible.This article conducted a detailed review of the relationships between tree characteristics and wood properties,quality,grades and product value of standing tree,which aims at providing a new way for utilizing China's forest timber resources of China efficiently and rationally. |
