Abstract:In this study,the effects of cold storage on eclosion and emergence of the gregarious pupal endoparasitoid Tetrastichus nigricoxae Yang were investigated.The mature larvae,prepupa and pupae of the parasitoid developed in Antheraea pernyi Guērin-Mēneville pupae were stored 7,14 and 21 days at 5 ℃,respectively.The results showed that the optimum storage stages and time for T.nigricoxae were pupa and 14 days at 5 ℃.The eclosion rate after cold storage decreased with the time of storage,which had no significant difference with CK,but declined to(46.7±23.1) % after 21 days of storage.The development duration after 7,14 days of storage were 32.3±3.2 days and 28.9±1.0 days,respectively,which was significantly higher than that of CK.The duration after 21 days was the same as CK.The numbers of offspring per host had no significant difference with CK.The eclosion rate was the same as CK after 7 days of storage for the parasitoid pupae at 7 ℃,which was significantly lower than that of CK after 14,21 and 28 days,respectively.The duration after 7,14 days of storage was significantly higher than that of CK,but had no significant deference with CK after 21,28 days of storage at 7 ℃,respectively.Cold storage of Micromelalopha troglodyta Graeser pupae for 15,30 days at 5 ℃ affected severely parasitism of T.nigricoxae and eclosion of its host pupae,respectively.
