Application of Social-ecological System Framework to Global Forest Governance Researches and Its Prospect |

| Abstract: | Social-ecological system framework provides feasible approaches to exploring the coupling of natural, political, economic and social factors for the research on forest governance pattern and its topics, which is conducive to explaining the dysfunctions of many popular forest governance policies and patterns in reality. After analyzing the application of this framework to the global forest governance research, this paper finds although there are still some limits, the social-ecological system framework has unique benefits to the evaluation of autonomy forest governance and supporting policy of government. These experiences can be helpful for addressing the problems existing in China’s forest governance such as the conflicts of economic development and ecology protection, the absence of forest governance actions and organizations, and the loopholes of government policies and legislation. |
