According to the economic rent theory and the characteristics of business model innovation, the incentive to business model innovation, the entrepreneurs'' ability and innovation performance are discussed in the paper. By structural equation modeling, the empirical research shows that the ability to discover the opportunity and the ability to stand the risks and uncertainties have positive effects on the business model innovation. And business model innovation has positive effects on the innovation performance by achieving the economic rents.
