| Abstract: | A design procedure is presented for minimizing the Capital cost of multiple-outlet pipelineswhich are composed of pipes with different diameters,while the variation in pressure head isrestricted to assure the required outlet discharge uniformity. The procedure uses the linearprograming,in which pipe length with commercial pipe diameter is used as optimum variableand the factors that affect the pressure head along multiple-outlet pipelines are considered. The procedure is easy to calculate in computer and applicable to the design of multiple-outletpipelines for sprinkler and micro irrigation. |
